Altitude successfully bid for a place on this Framework Contract in 2015. The contract was put in place by Cumbria County Council (CCC) to provide a pool of competent contractors to assist with the major upgrade of street lighting stock throughout the rural county of Cumbria.
Each package of works issued under the framework is tendered for as a mini competition, ensuring best value for the client and the residents of Cumbria.
Since the outset Altitude have successfully bid for several packages, with a combined total of over £1.5m. Works include column replacement works, LED conversions, Data Verification and Condition Reporting, Central Management Upgrades and many smaller ad hoc works orders.
In November 2016 we were awarded two Column Replacement Schemes, one in South Lakes and the other in Carlisle and Eden.
The combined number of column replacements was 872 – including the removal of the existing columns, and installation and DNO connection of the new equipment. Altitude were given 16 weeks to carry this work out.
We aimed to get each column completed and reinstated in the same day, so that we could remove all barriers etc. from site. Approximately 90% were done on the same day, with the remainder being completed within 2 days.
All the team worked fantastically together and we received many emails from the client thanking us for our great work on site.
