More than ninety Altitude staff gathered recently at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Preston for the company's first Safety Day.

Fortunately the weather was fine, and thanks to the hard work of the Altitude admin team and the hotel staff, the day went very well!

We started the day with a small course in the morning on safe use of Power tools, for about 12 of our staff.

This was finished at about midday, when the rest of the staff descended on the Hotel for lunch, and to be issued with New PPE, our new company handbooks and other paperwork.

After lunch our MD Bob Payne said a few words, followed by a refresher training session by one of our Training Providers, Kevin Chilton.  This covered some of the main do's and don'ts of the operations and activities our crews deal with day to day, with the opportunity for anyone to provide any feedback or suggestions to make the works we do safer.

Meanwhile Jane and the admin team were busy checking all vehicles were kitted out correctly with the right safety equipment, eg Fire Extinguishers, First Aid kits, eyewash etc.

The session finished with a few words from the management team and a big thank you from Bob Payne to the team for all their hard work and effort.

Finally, all staff gathered in front of some of the vehicles for a group photo in the sunshine, before making our way to the bar for a well deserved cold beverage!  All in all it was a great day, and big thanks go to all the staff at the Holiday Inn, Jim Lamb (Photographer), and Jane Banks and her team for some fantastic organisation.
