Blackpool Promenade Retro-fit CMS Installation.

This project, carried out on behalf of E-on Energy involved the retro fitting of new Harvard electronic ballasts, Leaf Nodes and Branch Nodes to approximately 520 existing decorative luminaires on Blackpool Promenade, in the height of the summer tourist period.
The busy environment was a challenging one to work in, but with careful planning and strategic timing we were able to complete the works quickly, safely and with the minimum of disruption to the public.
As part of our works, we were responsible for recording the data provided by Harvard on ‘Node Sheets’ and reporting this information in a clear and concise way to the CMS providers, ensuring that the system communicated effectively.
In the busiest sections of the route we decided to carry the works out in the early hours of the morning, when traffic and pedestrian intrusions were minimal. However as Blackpool is renowned for its busy night life we encountered other challenges, mainly from late night party goers. These challenges were discussed, and Safe Methods of Working were established to ensure that risks were minimised or eliminated during the works.
